Promotion and dissemination of project results
A crucial element of European Union projects is their promotion, i.e., the dissemination of results. It encompasses a series of activities aimed at sharing project outcomes with its stakeholders and a wider audience to maximize the project’s impact in a specific market area and enable broader use of its results.
Why is promotion of project results so important?
Promotion is crucial for the success of the project and the sustainability of its results in the long term. It allows you to:
- build demand on the market for a product, which is the outcome of the project, and facilitate its introduction after project completion;
- disseminate information, both about the project in general and about specific activities and products, highlighting their added value and innovativeness;
- increase awareness of the project importance in specific areas;
- strengthen and expand the engagement and participation of target groups;
- influence decision-makers, also in terms of policy in individual market areas, and facilitate their decision-making by formulating recommendations;
- Raise awareness regarding the improvement of quality of life and/or the environment among target groups;
- ensure the sustainability of project results.
Where to start?
The project’s promotion starts with the elaboration of a strategy for disseminating project results.
This strategy defines the structure and content of the conveyed information, the target audience and the most effective channels for reaching the specific target groups. The critical elements of a promotion plan are:
- WHAT: determining the content that should be included in the communication strategy to engage the audience
- WHO: identifying the target group to whom the communication will be directed;
- WHY: identifying dissemination goals;
- HOW: planning the method that will work best as information carrier;
- WHEN: establishing a schedule of activities correlated with the stages of project development and communication strategy.
When to start promoting the project results?
Promotion is an integral part of the project and is carried out throughout its duration, as well as after the project implementation is completed. Each phase of the project requires communication related to the specific stage of product development.
How to promote the results of the project?
Project promotion can take place through various channels: a website, social media, publication of articles in journals, magazines and online portals, organization of workshops, presentation of project results during various events such as conferences, fairs and exhibitions.
